On the same day as our morning visit to Table Mountain, we motor-coached to the Cape of Good Hope, Africa’s southernmost point, traveling south along the west coastline all of the way. Beach resorts? Plenty! Frolicking seals? Plenty! Spouting whales? None! (out of season).

At Cape Point, the climb to the lighthouse was a major effort for many of us but climb to the lighthouse we did. The postcard at the bottom left shows Cape Point slightly to the right of top center. It does not show the Point’s large nature preserve through which we drove on our return up the east coastline to Cape Town. Bonus: Lots of animal life to see – kudu, for one.
