No posh “Blue Train” overnighter for CLUB 44, we took a quick flight from Johan-nesburg to Cape Town, a modern, bustling city, where we got our first view of Table Mountain and the US Embassy that resembled our own White House.

     Our “home base” for our three-day stay in Cape Town was the convenient, comfortable Tulbagh Hotel located downtown (top right). On an all-points, quite lengthy City Tour, we spotted the Jan Smuts statue and the city’s major skyscraper – Lots of traffic!

     On our own that first night on the town we “grouped” at various inns and restaurants and the eightsome shown chose the “Colony Restaurant.”
