The Traditional '44 Class Parade
Our Oompah Band and majorettes sped us to lunch.
Still the ONLY Class keeping alive this tradition of the '50's!

TOP ROW LEFT: Drum Majorettes Janet Daukas, Dotty Kesten, and Marion  Blose get behind the band and in front of Parade Marshals Frank and Rosa Rhodes and Jim and Ruth Clark. Sorely missed was perennial Drum Majorette Bill Falkenstein who, unfortunately, had to cut class this time when his "ride" from LaGuardia Airport to Ithaca was scrubbed at the last minute and he could not get other Dallas-Ithaca last minute flights. (Ph: Renata Ballard).
MIDDLE: What band? Johnny Russo's New Orleans foursome – Johnny is the trumpeter who's wearing red (Ph: Merrill Sands).
RIGHT: Slowly descending from their bleacher seats (We're 80- to 83-year-olds, remember!), our classmates get behind their "college" banners - ALS to VET – and soon were marching to the tune of "When  the Saints Come Marching In." (Ph: Ed Fitchett).

MIDDLE ROW LEFT TO RIGHT:  Jan Scott totes the AGR (ALS) guidon in front of her fellow Aggies of which there were many.  (Ph: Ed Fitchett).
Bill Lane and Howie Evans are shown a-marching with Bud Bower (VET sign) right behind them and the Gallaghers (?) to their right.  (Ph: Erica Evans).
Gloria Bellis carries one of '44's many Day-Glo signs and "Good for her!" (Ph: Pete Bellis).
A true mob scene: Erma Packman (wearing white slacks in center), Barb Brandt, and Al Barry are some of the "identifieds" (Ph: Martin Packman).
Bill Donaldson and Charlie Van Reed each carry a Day-Glo '44 (Ph: Bill Donaldson but WHO took it, Bill?).

BOTTOM ROW LEFT: Rounding the northwest corner of Barton Hall, our erstwhile '44 paraders receive the applause of TWO lookers-on, OR are they '44 spouses taking photos? Your call. (Ph: Ed Fitchett).
RIGHT: Not the least bit out of breath and looking remarkably unruffled, Drum Majorettes Marion Blose and Janet Daukas close their Mardi Gras umbrellas and prepare to enjoy their Barton Hall luncheon. (Ph: Paula Daukas).
