Friday's Moose Milk Party and Luncheon

TOP ROW: (All 3 photos taken by Ed Fitchett). LEFT: Many of us, however, did NOT traipse down to the Straight for lunch but rode the '44 buses from Kennedy Hall right to the Straight. This meant driving onto Ho Plaza, now a pedestrian mall from Campus Road right up to the Libe Tower.
CENTER: '44 got "Special Dispensation" and those who needed "wheels" were driven up Ho Plaza and deposited at the Straight's front entrance. How's that for service?
TOP RIGHT: Once inside, we plunked ourselves down at the luncheon tables that were set in Willard Straight's impressive, first floor Memorial Room. (A particularly memorable room for your '44 webmaster who met his eventual wife-to-be at a Freshmen "mixer" the THIRD day we were both on campus as Freshmen.)

BOTTOM ROW LEFT:  Bob Miller and Hank Bates chat a bit prior to heading for a table at the "Sub-Buffet Luncheon." The ‘Sub' stands for Submarine or Hero sandwiches -- the sandwiches were a-plenty and heap full of whatever you wanted. But they were in a hard-to-eat eight-inch rolls.  (Ph: Bobby Gallant)
CENTER: Kit and Charlie Sigety -- and both in uniform in being well-hatted -- try to cope with the offerings, but who can manage to eat a sub daintily in public? (Ph: Bobby Gallant).
