At Cornell: McMullen Scholarship, Phi Gamma Delta, Freshman Soccer, Summer Baseball, US Navy V-12 Program. Company Comdr at Notre Dame Midshipmen’s School. LTJG, USNR. Chief Engineer on Destroyer, ’43-’46 Pacific Theater-Okinawa Invasion. CEO, Lang & Smith Adver-tising & Market Consulting. Retired 1989. Married Betty Bob Knapp in Dallas, TX, on Dec. 23, 1950. Sons: Randall, Bradley, and Davis. Daughters: Natalie Joan Smith Pilcher. Grandsons: Griffin, Brennan, Brody, and Landon. Granddaugh-ters: Katie, Lauren, and Johanna. Legacies: Randall K. Smith, Human Ecology, ’76. Bradley L. Smith, BS, Hotel, ’80 (both third generation).
